Featuring leaders from a variety of sectors, the AmCham (The American Chamber of Commerce) Shanghai 2014-2015 Human Resources Series focused on organizational development, the role of leaders in times of change and leadership in China and the Asia Pacific. With her depth of experiences and knowledge concerning human resources in China, HCP’s Managing Director, Vanessa Moriel, was invited to speak to conference delegates on the topic of leadership, talent acquisition and the HCP Leadership Equation.

The leadership equation was developed by HCP as a way of identifying and assessing a candidate’s suitability for leadership. HCP understands the added value that a GREAT leader can bring to an organization and it is on this basis that they developed the leadership equation:

A+B+C+D+E+F=G (GREAT LEADER)

The leadership equation aims to identify GREAT leaders and the potential that they have to be successful in a particular leadership position. The development of this methodology has led to success for HCP as they consistently match organizations to candidates are proven GREAT leaders in many of China and Asia’s tier one organizations.

The opportunity for Vanessa to share her experiences, knowledge and methodology with HR senior decision makers further reinforces HCP’s credentials for talent management and development, succession and pipeline planning and HR business partnering. Following her speech, Vanessa commented that:

“It has been a pleasure to share my knowledge and experience with such a professional and like-minded group of professionals. Understanding what makes a GREAT leader is what makes Human Capital Partners so successful and the opportunity to share this information with so many senior decision makers will help to ensure that businesses in the China and Asia region get the calibre of candidates that will enable strong economic growth in the future.”

Other speakers at the AmCham Shanghai 2014-2015 Human Resources Series included business leaders from many of China and Asia’s largest and most successful organizations such as Glen Walter, Chief Executive Officer, Bottling Investments Group, China, (The Coca-Cola Company); Tony Xu, Chief Finance Officer, Boeing Shanghai; Peter Outridge, Managing Director for KPMG; Nancy Sykes, Vice President, HR, Asia Pacific, Goodyear Tyre Company, and; Robert Treme, Director, Human Resources, GM China, amongst many others.
